About IMPACT

The Institute of Media Production Arts and Creative Technology (IMPACT) is a Career Technical Education pathway at Indio High School. The pathway develops student skills in the areas of filmmaking, graphic design, audio production, broadcast, animation, and leadership in preparation for postsecondary education and careers in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment industry sector.

IMPACT students develop dynamic resumes and digital portfolios while gaining hands-on and real-world experience through a wide variety of projects, presentations, community/industry partnerships, and work-based learning opportunities.

All IMPACT courses are A-G approved with the University of California, California State University, and are CTE approved.

Mission Statement

IMPACT graduates are prepared to utilize digital media to achieve meaningful goals in college and careers via a rigorous and relevant arts, media, and entertainment career technical education curriculum with an emphasis on creativity, collaboration, and character.

About the Instructor - 2020 Riverside County Teacher of the Year

As the IMPACT Instructor/Coordinator, my goal is to utilize digital media in a way that empowers students and prepares them for life after high school in any field. I believe that digital media literacy is as essential for success as reading and writing.

The IMPACT CTE pathway is designed to be project oriented- providing students with as many skill-development and real-world opportunities as possible between grades 9-12. Sometimes, it's also just plain fun.

Outside of IMPACT, I spend most of my time running my YouTube channel, playing with our dogs, and attempting to play drums/guitar.
